November 1, 2026 | Elite Auto Auctions

At Elite Auto Auctions, we understand that purchasing a vehicle is an important decision. While most transactions proceed as expected, there are occasions when an auction, seller, or insurance company cancels a vehicle sale after a customer has placed an order.

We want our customers to understand exactly what happens when a sale is canceled, how their funds are handled, and the proper procedures for requesting a refund.

Why Would an Auction or Seller Cancel a Sale?

Elite Auto Auctions works with independent licensed brokers and third-party auctions, insurance companies, and vehicle sellers throughout the United States.

Because we do not own or physically possess the vehicles listed on our platform, certain decisions remain under the control of the original seller or auction.

A sale may occasionally be canceled for several reasons, including:

  • The seller withdraws the vehicle from the auction.

  • The insurance company determines the vehicle is no longer available.

  • The auction identifies a title, ownership, or documentation issue.

  • The seller declines to finalize or approve the transaction.

  • An administrative error, inventory discrepancy, or other issue prevents completion of the sale.

These cancellations are generally outside the direct control of Elite Auto Auctions and its independent brokers.

What Happens to Your Funds When a Sale Is Canceled?

When a vehicle sale is officially canceled by the auction, seller, or insurance company, the funds associated with that canceled transaction are automatically credited back to the customer's Elite Auto Auctions online account, once the cancellation has been confirmed and the funds have been reconciled.

The available credit can be applied toward the purchase of another vehicle listed on our platform.

Customers are not required to start the purchasing process over or submit another payment for amounts already available as credit in their online account.

Our goal is to make it as convenient as possible for customers to select a replacement vehicle and continue shopping.

What Happens to Credit Card Deposits?

If a customer has placed a credit card deposit and the transaction is canceled before the payment has been captured, the authorization is voided rather than processed as a completed charge.

A voided credit card authorization is not a captured payment.

Depending on the customer's financial institution, a temporary pending authorization may remain visible until the card issuer releases the hold.

If a credit card payment has already been captured, it must be handled through the applicable credit or refund process rather than an authorization void.

Can Customers Use Their Credit Toward Another Vehicle?

Absolutely.

Customers with an available account credit may use those funds toward another eligible vehicle offered through Elite Auto Auctions and its participating independent brokers.

Our inventory includes vehicles from insurance auctions, dealer auctions, repossessions, and other participating sellers throughout the country.

Customers may work with their assigned sales representative to identify a suitable replacement vehicle or browse available inventory directly through their online account.

What If a Customer Prefers a Refund Instead?

We understand that some customers may prefer to request a refund rather than apply their account credit toward another vehicle.

All refund requests must be submitted in writing directly to the appropriate Elite Auto Auctions office or designated refund department.

Speaking with a sales representative or call center agent does not, by itself, constitute a formal written refund request.

To help prevent misunderstandings, processing delays, or administrative oversights, customers should submit their request through the company's designated official written communication channel.

The written request should include:

  • Customer's full name and account information.

  • Vehicle identification number (VIN) or order number.

  • The reason for requesting a refund.

  • The amount being requested.

  • Current contact information.

Once received, the request can be documented, reviewed, and processed in accordance with the applicable purchase agreement, refund policy, and legal requirements.

An online account credit does not eliminate a customer's ability to submit a formal refund request.

Why Is a Written Refund Request Important?

Elite Auto Auctions processes transactions involving multiple independent parties, including auction companies, sellers, insurance providers, brokers, and financial institutions.

A customer may communicate with a sales representative or call center agent during the purchasing process. However, those conversations do not always reach the department responsible for reviewing and processing refunds.

Requiring a written request directly to the appropriate office helps ensure that:

  • The customer's instructions are properly documented.

  • The correct transaction and payment amount are identified.

  • The refund department receives the request.

  • There is a clear record of the customer's preferred resolution.

  • Miscommunication and administrative oversights are minimized.

This process protects both our customers and the independent brokers involved in the transaction.

Our Commitment to Transparency

At Elite Auto Auctions, we recognize that an unexpected vehicle cancellation can be disappointing.

Our priority is to provide customers with clear information, accurate account balances, and practical options for moving forward.

Whether a customer chooses to apply available credit toward another vehicle or submit a formal refund request, we encourage all customers to communicate directly with the appropriate department and maintain written records of their requests.

Elite Auto Auctions remains committed to transparency, responsible transaction handling, and helping customers navigate the vehicle purchasing process with confidence.

All account credits, cancellations, and refund requests are subject to the applicable purchase agreement, company policies, and governing law.
